Building the First Living Community for Human Sovereignty in the AI Age

From CIRAS research to a real international community where people, artists and companies can test a new human-centered economic model

Artificial intelligence is changing the economics of human life.

It is changing how people work, how companies produce, how information is created, how artists earn a living, how identities are verified and increasingly how decisions are delegated to machines.

CIRAS has therefore been researching a broader question:

How can technological progress strengthen the economic and creative sovereignty of human beings instead of gradually replacing it?

The answer cannot remain only a theoretical paper, a technical protocol or a laboratory experiment.

It needs people.

It needs artists.

It needs companies.

It needs real transactions.

It needs communities willing to test new rules.

And it needs a protected environment in which those rules can be developed responsibly before they are introduced at larger societal scale.

For this reason, CIRAS proposes the next evolution of its One Light Community:

ONE LIGHT HUMAN ECONOMY

A living international test community for a new economic model centered on human identity, human creativity, human ownership, human-controlled artificial intelligence and fair participation in the value created by technology.

One Light already exists within CIRAS as a neutral international movement connecting art, humanitarian action, science, sustainability and positive societal transformation. CIRAS describes the One Light Community as an international association based in Switzerland and the wider campaign as a global, non-political movement for awareness and positive action.

The next phase is to turn that community into something more:

a real-world laboratory for the Human Economy.

From Research to a Living Community

CIRAS has developed research concepts around Sovereign Presence, Web B(eyond), post-quantum infrastructure, Parisii QFS, human-controlled AI and the protection of human-created intellectual property.

But infrastructure only becomes meaningful when people can actually use it.

One Light therefore becomes the first controlled community in which these ideas can be tested socially, culturally and economically.

Members join voluntarily.

Every member contributes a small membership fee.

The contribution is not simply payment for access to another social network.

It supports the creation of an independent human-centered ecosystem: identity infrastructure, creator protection, community programmes, cultural projects, technology testing, qualification systems, education, governance and the continued development of the Human Economy.

The principle is simple:

Many people contribute a little so that humans can collectively build something they own and govern together.

Instead of every individual being merely a user of somebody else’s platform, the members become participants in the development of the new model.

A FIFA-Inspired International Structure

The organizational inspiration is not a traditional technology company.

It is closer to the federated model used by international organizations such as FIFA.

FIFA itself is an international non-governmental, non-profit association under Swiss law. Its global system connects 211 national member associations across six confederations. Those associations retain responsibility within their respective territories while participating in common international rules, governance structures and standards.

One Light can adapt this principle to a very different purpose.

There can be:

One Light International;

national One Light associations or chapters;

regional communities;

creator communities;

qualified companies;

research partners;

cultural institutions;

and individual members.

All participate under a common One Light Charter and Human Economy principles.

This creates an international network without requiring every activity to be centrally controlled.

Local communities understand local culture and law.

The international structure maintains common standards.

CIRAS provides research, scientific development and technological frameworks.

One Light provides the community in which these systems can be tested.

A Closed-Circle Human Economy

One Light can therefore operate as a closed-circle membership ecosystem.

This term is important.

It does not mean that One Light becomes a sovereign state or creates a legal jurisdiction above national law.

Instead, members voluntarily enter a private-law community governed by its statutes, membership agreements, standards, codes of conduct and qualification rules, always subject to applicable national and international law.

Inside this voluntary environment, One Light can establish its own standards for participation.

For example:

A creator can agree to Human Origin rules.

A company can agree to respect creator rights.

A technology provider can agree to transparency standards.

A member can agree not to misrepresent AI-generated material as verified human creation.

A marketplace can agree to recognize Human Origin credentials.

An AI developer can agree to defined licensing conditions.

A participating company can agree to pay creators when licensed human intellectual property is commercially used.

The community therefore becomes a rules-based economic circle.

Participation is voluntary.

But participation carries responsibilities.

Membership as the Foundation

Every One Light member contributes a small membership fee.

The fee should remain deliberately accessible.

The objective is not exclusivity based on wealth.

The objective is commitment.

A person who joins One Light says:

I want to participate in an economy in which humans remain important.

The membership contribution helps finance the common infrastructure instead of making advertising, surveillance or data extraction the economic foundation of the community.

Members could progressively receive access to:

  • a One Light Human Identity and member credential;
  • the Human Origin creator system;
  • creator-rights registration and provenance tools;
  • Human Economy marketplaces and participating companies;
  • Web B(eyond) community infrastructure;
  • education about AI, copyright and digital sovereignty;
  • cultural and artistic programmes;
  • community events and One Light chapters;
  • early participation in CIRAS research pilots;
  • sovereign AI and personal-data research tools;
  • QFS-compatible rights, licensing and payment services as they become technically and legally available;
  • direct access to verified human creators and participating businesses.

The membership therefore has both a cultural and practical meaning.

Artists Become the First Pioneers

Artists should be among the first people invited into the One Light Human Economy.

Photographers.

Musicians.

Painters.

Filmmakers.

Designers.

Writers.

Illustrators.

Actors.

Performers.

Digital artists.

Architects.

Craftspeople.

The reason is simple.

Creative professionals are already experiencing some of the economic effects of generative AI before many other professions.

Infinite synthetic images can compete with photography.

Synthetic voices can compete with singers.

Generated illustrations can compete with illustrators.

AI music can compete with composers.

Generated video can compete with filmmakers.

This does not mean artificial intelligence should disappear.

It means society needs a mechanism through which human creation remains recognizable and economically valuable.

One Light becomes the first community to test that mechanism.

Created by Human

Participating creators can register work through the proposed CIRAS Human Origin framework.

The purpose is not merely to create another NFT.

It is to establish evidence.

A Human Origin record can progressively connect:

the creator;

the creation event;

the original file;

secure capture where available;

timestamps;

provenance;

creative history;

AI involvement;

copyright claims;

licensing conditions;

and future transactions.

A photograph could demonstrate that it originated in a physical camera.

A musician could authenticate an original performance.

A painter could document creation milestones.

A filmmaker could distinguish captured scenes from synthetic scenes.

A writer could establish signed drafts and publication history.

A digital artist could document how AI was—or was not—used within the creative process.

The result becomes a new cultural category:

CREATED BY HUMAN

Not as an anti-AI statement.

As a statement of provenance.

Human, AI-Assisted or AI-Generated

One Light should encourage transparency rather than ideological conflict.

Creative works can therefore be identified through different provenance categories.

Human Origin means the relevant expressive creation originated substantially from human work.

Human Authored — AI Assisted means AI supported the human creative process but the human remained the substantive author.

Human + AI Co-Created indicates material generative participation by both.

AI Generated identifies substantially synthetic output while still allowing the responsible human principal or organization to be identified.

The purpose is not to judge which category is “good.”

The purpose is to allow people to know what they are buying, viewing, licensing or supporting.

Companies Can Qualify for the Human Economy

One Light should not remain only a community of individuals.

Companies can join as qualified participants.

But company participation should require more than paying a fee.

A business that wants to display the future One Light Human Economy Qualified status would accept defined standards.

These could include transparent treatment of AI-generated content, respect for Human Origin credentials, responsible licensing of human intellectual property, creator remuneration, privacy protections, responsible AI practices and transparent commercial conditions.

Qualification could occur in stages.

A company may initially become a One Light member.

It then completes an assessment.

The company agrees to applicable standards.

It implements the required processes.

It receives qualification for a limited period.

The status is periodically reviewed.

Serious violations may lead to suspension.

In this way, One Light membership becomes valuable because it means something.

A New Relationship Between Artists and Companies

Today the relationship between creators and technology platforms is often unbalanced.

A creator uploads work.

The platform controls discovery.

The platform controls the audience.

The platform controls the commercial rules.

The platform can change those rules.

The creator remains dependent.

One Light Human Economy proposes another model.

The creator retains their identity.

The creator retains their provenance.

The creator retains their rights unless they explicitly transfer them.

The company requests a licence.

The creator defines the terms.

The agreement becomes machine-readable where appropriate.

Payments can ultimately settle through QFS-compatible infrastructure.

And the provenance remains connected to the creator.

The platform becomes a service provider.

It does not become the owner of the human.

Parisii QFS and Web B(eyond)

The longer-term technological model connects the community with CIRAS’s wider research ecosystem.

Parisii QFS provides an architecture in which identities, rights, mandates, assets and transactions can be represented as governed objects.

Its RWA framework already identifies intellectual property, royalty rights, licensing revenues, AI models and data rights among potential categories for structured digital representation.

Web B(eyond) provides the larger sovereign network concept through which identity, distributed infrastructure and digital objects could interoperate.

One Light supplies the missing element:

the people.

A financial architecture without a community remains infrastructure.

A provenance standard without artists remains software.

A sovereign identity system without citizens remains research.

One Light connects these technologies with actual human behaviour.

Monetizing Human Intellectual Property

Once a Human Origin asset has verifiable provenance and legally defined rights, it can participate in a much richer economic system.

A photographer could license an image.

A musician could license a recording.

A filmmaker could sell screening rights.

A painter could create authenticated editions.

A writer could license translation rights.

A performer could license a voice under specific conditions.

An AI company could request access to a rights-cleared training corpus.

A creator could authorize academic AI training but prohibit commercial training.

Another creator could accept commercial training in exchange for payment.

Rights can become granular.

And where legally appropriate, some rights or revenue interests could eventually be tokenized through Parisii-compatible infrastructure.

The critical principle remains:

The token does not create the copyright.

The token represents a legally identified right.

The Human Creativity Royalty Pool

One Light also creates the ideal community for testing the proposed Human Creativity Royalty Pool.

Individual artists cannot negotiate separately with every artificial-intelligence company in the world.

But thousands—or eventually millions—of creators participating in a rights-cleared network can collectively create something economically significant:

a high-quality corpus of verified human creativity.

Artists could voluntarily contribute selected works under defined conditions.

AI companies or other commercial users could license access.

Revenue enters a transparent settlement system.

Creators receive distributions according to agreed rules.

The result is a new relationship:

AI development can continue.

And:

human culture can participate economically in the value it helps create.

One Light Companies

The same idea can create a new business category.

Imagine a hotel that preferentially purchases Human Origin photography.

A clothing company that commissions verified human designers.

A streaming service offering a Human Origin music category.

A publisher committed to human-authored literature.

A museum marketplace connected directly to artists.

A tourism company hiring verified human photographers.

A brand purchasing advertising music from participating musicians.

A technology company licensing human-created training data transparently.

Each becomes part of the One Light economic circle.

Members can deliberately direct their purchasing power toward participating businesses.

Businesses gain access to a values-aligned global community.

Artists gain customers.

The community becomes economically meaningful.

One Light Is Not Only About Buying

The Human Economy is larger than commerce.

One Light began with the idea that one person can be a light for another.

CIRAS has described the initiative as connecting humanitarian action, science, art, environmental responsibility and positive change.

That philosophy should remain at its center.

Part of the Human Economy can support:

young creators;

cultural preservation;

humanitarian initiatives;

education;

scientific research;

creative scholarships;

social projects;

and community development.

Economic participation and social contribution do not need to be opposites.

A functioning community can connect both.

The Role of Krista Kim

Digital artist and Techism founder Krista Kim will serve as an international cultural ambassador for the One Light Human Economy.

Her work is particularly aligned with the project’s central philosophy.

Krista’s Techism movement advocates digital humanism and argues that artists must participate in shaping technological culture rather than leaving its future exclusively to corporations and technologists. Her HEARTSPACE project explores biometric presence, privacy and human-centered AI through a participatory artistic environment.

Within One Light, Krista represents an important message:

Technology can become extraordinarily powerful without requiring humanity to become less human.

Artists should not stand outside technological development protesting its arrival.

They should participate in designing its future.

Katarzyna Jelenska and the CIRAS Center for Arts

Krista Kim will work as ambassador alongside Katarzyna Jelenska, Director of the CIRAS Center for Arts, in developing the artistic and cultural dimension of the One Light Human Economy.

Katarzyna’s work within CIRAS already places art at the center of interdisciplinary research, intercultural dialogue and societal transformation. CIRAS describes the Center for Arts under her direction as connecting artistic expression with areas including identity, peacebuilding, ecological resilience, governance and public engagement.

Together, the artistic leadership of the project can connect two complementary levels.

Krista brings international artistic visibility, digital-humanism philosophy and direct engagement with contemporary technology.

Katarzyna connects creators with CIRAS research, institutional structures, projects and the wider One Light community.

The objective is not simply to promote artists.

It is to invite artists to become co-designers of a new economy.

Artists as Ambassadors

Every participating artist can also become an ambassador.

They can explain Human Origin.

They can show audiences why provenance matters.

They can demonstrate responsible collaboration with AI.

They can invite other creators.

They can encourage galleries and businesses to join.

They can participate in exhibitions.

They can test licensing systems.

They can help improve the technology.

And they can communicate something that a technical white paper cannot:

why human creativity matters.

The One Light Human Economy therefore grows through cultural participation rather than conventional advertising alone.

Testing Before Scaling

One Light’s greatest value to CIRAS may be that it provides a controlled environment for experimentation.

Before proposing a new identity system for millions of citizens, test it with thousands of voluntary members.

Before governments depend on Human Origin, test it with artists.

Before companies tokenize intellectual property, test the legal structures.

Before AI agents receive financial mandates, test limited permissions.

Before sovereign hardware is deployed widely, let real members use the devices.

Before an international creator royalty mechanism is proposed at policy level, measure whether it actually benefits creators.

This is applied research.

The community becomes part of the scientific process.

The One Light Human Economy Laboratory

CIRAS researchers can study the community longitudinally.

Questions include:

Do consumers value verified human-created work?

Will companies pay more for rights-cleared human content?

Will creators opt into paid AI training?

Which forms of provenance are trusted?

What percentage of artists prefer zero AI use?

Which AI-assisted workflows are culturally accepted?

Can direct licensing improve creator income?

Can micro-royalties become economically viable?

Can sovereign identity reduce platform dependency?

Can transparent provenance improve trust in photography and journalism?

Can artists use personal AI agents without surrendering control?

Can community membership finance common digital infrastructure?

The answers should not be assumed.

They should be measured.

Human Economy Membership

The long-term objective is that a One Light member can eventually carry a portable Human Economy identity.

With that identity, the member can enter participating communities and services while controlling what information is shared.

A creator may additionally carry Human Origin credentials.

A company may carry a qualification credential.

A professional may carry verified qualifications.

A member’s personal AI may carry an authorization mandate.

But these identities should remain separated where privacy requires it.

A person’s shopping history should not reveal their vote.

A creator’s public artistic identity should not expose their private government identity.

A health credential should not expose financial records.

A membership network should never become a surveillance network.

The Closed Circle Becomes an Open Example

One Light begins as a closed membership circle because new systems need a controlled environment in which rules can be tested.

But the knowledge generated should create wider value.

Successful standards can be published.

Scientific results can be evaluated.

Governments can observe.

Universities can participate.

Companies can qualify.

Other associations can adopt compatible principles.

National One Light communities can develop.

The objective is therefore not to create an isolated digital island.

It is to demonstrate that another economic architecture is possible.

A Human Economy Instead of an Attention Economy

Much of today’s digital economy is based on attention.

Platforms compete for time.

Algorithms optimize engagement.

Personal information becomes economic fuel.

AI increasingly learns from human culture at enormous scale.

One Light proposes a different foundation:

membership instead of surveillance;

permission instead of extraction;

provenance instead of ambiguity;

licensing instead of uncontrolled appropriation;

human-controlled AI instead of unrestricted AI authority;

community instead of dependency;

participation instead of passive consumption.

The small membership fee becomes philosophically important because it changes the economic relationship.

The member is no longer primarily the product.

The member becomes a participant.

One Light and the Next Generation

This project ultimately concerns future generations.

Children growing up today will live in a world in which synthetic photography, music, video, voices and personalities may become almost unlimited.

They may have AI assistants from childhood.

They may interact with millions of machine-generated entities.

In such a world, the question of what is authentically human becomes increasingly important.

Not because machines are inherently bad.

But because human society must retain space for human experience.

Human friendship.

Human performance.

Human imperfection.

Human imagination.

Human culture.

Human responsibility.

And human economic independence.

The One Light Principle

One Light Human Economy can be summarized through a simple sequence:

A human joins.

The human receives a sovereign community identity.

The human controls their data.

The artist creates.

Human Origin protects provenance.

The creator defines rights.

Companies qualify to participate.

AI requests permission rather than assuming ownership.

QFS-compatible infrastructure enables licensing and settlement.

Creators receive value.

Members support participating creators and companies.

Part of the community’s economic activity supports positive societal projects.

The network grows internationally.

One Community — Many Nations

The FIFA-inspired federated structure offers a useful organizational model.

A common international charter.

National associations.

Regional chapters.

Member organizations.

Recognized standards.

Qualification.

Internal governance.

Dispute mechanisms.

International cooperation.

But One Light applies these principles to something broader than sport.

It applies them to:

the future economic position of the human being.

From One Light to Millions of Lights

One Light began with a simple philosophy.

One person can become a light for another.

The Human Economy extends that philosophy into technology and economics.

One creator protecting another.

One member supporting an artist.

One company choosing ethical licensing.

One AI developer paying for human-created data.

One photographer documenting reality.

One musician retaining control of a voice.

One community protecting culture.

One human maintaining authority over an AI.

Individually, these are small decisions.

Together they create infrastructure.

And infrastructure changes society.

The Invitation

CIRAS now invites artists, creators, researchers, companies, technologists, cultural institutions and individuals to participate in building and testing the One Light Human Economy.

Not because every answer has already been found.

But precisely because it has not.

This is a research community.

A cultural community.

An economic experiment.

And potentially the beginning of a different relationship between humanity and artificial intelligence.

The central question is no longer simply:

What can AI create?

The question is:

What kind of economy do humans want to create around AI?

One Light proposes an answer:

An economy in which technology serves people.

An economy in which creators remain visible.

An economy in which human intellectual property remains connected to the human who created it.

An economy in which AI can participate—but does not silently become the owner.

An economy in which companies can demonstrate that they respect human creativity.

An economy in which small membership contributions collectively finance independent infrastructure.

An economy in which every person can participate without surrendering their identity, culture or dignity.

ONE LIGHT HUMAN ECONOMY

Created by humans.

Governed for humans.

Open to responsible technology.

Built together.

One Light. One Humanity. Millions of Creators. A New Human Economy.
