Job Summary:

The CIRAS Research Scientist will contribute to the design, development, and validation of advanced interdisciplinary models that support sovereign, institutional, and decentralized innovation initiatives. Working across fields such as physics, economics, computer science, materials science, and socio-systems engineering, the scientist will lead and collaborate on high-impact research within the CIRAS framework—pushing boundaries in scalable intelligence, tokenization, post-capitalist models, and resilient global infrastructure.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Innovative Systems Research
    • Design, conduct, and publish peer-reviewed studies on advanced systems (social, economic, energy, and technological).
    • Prototype and validate CIRAS modules: token engineering, value distribution, quantum models, and systemic optimization.
    • Integrate scientific methods with system dynamics, sustainability principles, and computational modeling.
  • Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration
    • Collaborate with economists, software engineers, designers, and public-sector strategists on CIRAS core R&D.
    • Translate research into technical documentation and policy drafts.
    • Participate in think tanks, consortiums, and global knowledge exchanges.
  • Scientific Leadership & Advisory
    • Contribute to the direction of the CIRAS scientific strategy.
    • Mentor junior researchers, fellows, and CIRAS interns.
    • Support grant writing and proposal development for strategic research projects.
  • Ethical & Scalable Development
    • Ensure models adhere to CIRAS principles: transparency, open-science, regenerative economics, and distributed trust.
    • Apply ethical foresight to human, ecological, and digital impacts of implemented research.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • PhD or equivalent research experience in one or more of the following:
    • Systems Science / Complex Systems
    • Physics or Applied Mathematics
  • Decentralized Computing / Cryptoeconomics
  • Sustainable Development / Circular Economy
  • Sociology, Philosophy of Technology, or Political Economy
  • Strong programming experience (Python, R, Julia, or system modeling tools)
  • Published peer-reviewed work or equivalent innovation IP
  • Excellent scientific writing, communication, and data visualization skills
  • Experience with simulation environments, agent-based models, or ontological design

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with blockchain, AI governance, tokenization protocols, or DAO architecture
  • Familiarity with open-source science practices or research reproducibility frameworks
  • Active contributor to interdisciplinary initiatives or planetary-scale problem-solving

  • Modeling: Python, AnyLogic, Vensim, Mathematica
  • Data: Jupyter, RStudio, MATLAB
  • Collaboration: GitHub, Notion, Overleaf, Miro
  • Token Ecosystem: Solidity, XRPL, Cosmos SDK, or Substrate (a plus)
